It’s that time of year again: farmers and other vendors from across the state are headed to local markets to hawk their fresh produce, baked goods, handmade crafts, and more.
If you’re looking to purchase fresh, tasty, just-picked produce (and want to support local farmers), head to a market near you today. These Central Illinois farmer’s markets are worth a stop during the summer months:
Clinton Area Farmers and Artisans Market: Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon
City of Urbana Market at the Square: Saturdays 7 a.m. to noon
Downtown Bloomington Farmer’s Market: Saturdays 7:30 a.m. to noon
Galesburg Farmer’s Market: Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon
Latham Park Farmer’s Market (Lincoln): Wednesdays 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturdays 7 a.m. to noon
Monticello Farmer’s Market: Thursdays 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Old Capitol Farmer’s Market (Springfield): Wednesdays and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Peoria Farmer’s Market at the Metro Centre: Monday through Saturday starting at 8 a.m.
Peoria RiverFront Market: Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon
Quincy Farmer’s Market: Tuesdays 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
