Your Turn: What Makes Central Illinois Great?

What do you love most about the central part of the Prairie State? Is it the history? The scenery? All the terrific summer festivals? The food?

The editors of Illinois Adventures want to know what makes Central Illinois great to you. Fill us in on the places you love, the people you’ll always remember, and the adventures you can’t live without. Send your insights, anecdotes, and tall tales to editor@illinois-adventures.com today.

We’ll publish some of our favorites right here on the site, and every writer who sends an essay our way by noon on July 31, 2009, will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate for dinner at your favorite locally owned Central Illinois restaurant. (Yep, that’s right. The restaurant choice is up to you.)

All you have to do is submit your typed essay of 500 words or less by July 16, 2009, to editor@illinois-adventures.com. Be sure to include your full name, town, phone number, and mailing address with your essay submission so we can contact you if we decide to publish your essay (and so you can claim your $25 gift certificate if you win the big prize)!
